It is challenging to live in the present, a mental state of being engaged in the now without reacting to our thoughts. The basic nature of the mind is to dwell in the past or to worry about the future.
The food tasting experience is an accumulation of taste, touch, sight, sound and smell. We can live more in the present moment by tapping into the power of these five senses, and be much more aware and appreciative of tastes and textures we enjoy.
These prawn fritters are delicious and healthy, packed with veggies and protein. They made a wonderful dish to serve as a light lunch or to pass around with drinks.
- 1 cup chopped chives
- 1 cup finely chopped onion
- 1 cup raw prawns (shelled, chopped to about pea-sized pieces )
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 teaspoon white pepper
- 2 cups oil
- In a bowl, mix the egg, prawn pieces, onion, chives, flour, salt and white pepper. Stir to combine.
- Heat some oil in a non-stick frying pan and cook tablespoons of mixture over a medium heat for 2-3 minutes each side until golden.
