It is challenging to live in the present, a mental state of being engaged in the now without reacting to our thoughts. The basic nature of the mind is to dwell in the past or to worry about the future.
The food-tasting experience is an accumulation of taste, touch, sight, sound, and smell. We can live more in the present moment by tapping into the power of these five senses, and be much more aware and appreciative of the tastes and textures we enjoy.
