Ingredients

  • 300 g green beans ends trimmed and cut in half
  • 1 cup oil
  • 1 cup ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon fried garlic

Sauce

  • 1 teaspoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoon rice wine

Instructions

  • Deep frying the green beans: Add oil and green bean in a saucepan over medium heat. Deep-fry the green beans until the skin is slightly wrinkled and golden in color. Once done, turn off the heat and set the beans aside. Remove the excess oil, leaving only two tablespoons in the pan for the next step. In a small bowl, mix together the oyster sauce, soy sauce, and rice wine.
  • Frying ground beef: Set the heat to medium and add the ground beef. Stir-fry until the beef is slightly golden in color. Next, add the mixing sauce and continue cooking for 10-20 seconds until the sauce has evaporated and the beef is sizzling.
  • Mixing in green beans and stir fry: Add the cooked green beans and fried garlic to the pan. Stir-fry until everything is nicely mixed and sizzling, approximately 1-2 minutes.

Notes

  • To avoid oil splattering, make sure to dry the beans thoroughly before deep-frying.
  • Feel free to adjust the amount of green beans and ground beef to your personal preference.
  • To add some extra flavor, you can sprinkle some chili flakes during step three.
  • It’s recommended to stick to serving sizes of 1-3 for this Chinese stir-fry recipe, as cooking a large quantity can make it difficult to ensure all the ingredients sizzle and cook evenly.
