- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup pomegranate molasses
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 25 g butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
- 2 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1 cup water
Prepare Cocoa Paste: In a small saucepan, create a smooth paste by blending cornstarch and cocoa powder with 1/3 cup of water.
Simmer and Thicken Mixture: Over medium heat, stir in 2/3 cup of water, sugar, and butter until the mixture boils and thickens, taking approximately 10 minutes.
Infuse Flavor: Add vanilla essence and pomegranate molasses to the thickened mixture, stirring thoroughly to enhance the flavor profile.
- Cocoa Powder: You have flexibility with the amount of cocoa powder in this recipe. If you prefer a darker and more bitter taste, feel free to add more. Use less if you’re aiming for a milder flavor.
- pomegranate molasses: I bought pomegranate molasses at my local farmer’s market, and it comes in a glass jar. If it’s not available at your nearby supermarket, you can also order it online.
- Sugar: You can adjust the sugar level based on your preference, and for an added touch of flavor, you can also use brown sugar.
